KUET was established as ‘Khulna Engineering College’ under the University of Rajshahi. In 1974, this college is affiliated as the faculty of engineering under the University of Rajshahi. It was converted to BIT in 1986. BIT was converted to KUET on 1st September 2003. It is situated in the northwest part of Khulna city. KUET is organised in 20 depertments under 3 faculties. It has seven residential halls (6 halls for male and 1 halls for female).

Minimum Requirement for KUET Admission:
| SSC | Candidates have to get GPA: 4.00 in SSC or Equivalent exam |
| HSC |
Candidates must HSC exam in 2020 and they have to obtain GPA: 18.00 in these 4 Subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry, English) For Bio-Medical Engineering Dept. you have to get GPA: 4.00 in Biology also. |
